eduSeed Zoom Integration Guide

This guide explains how administrators and instructors can add, use, and remove the eduSeed Zoom integration.

This guide is intended for the eduSeed Zoom integration that retrieves Zoom cloud recording transcripts and generates draft class summaries for review inside eduSeed.

1. What the Integration Does

The eduSeed Zoom integration allows authorized users to:

In the current version, summaries are not automatically sent to parents. Summaries must be reviewed and approved inside eduSeed.

For administrators

  1. Sign in to eduSeed with an administrator account.
  2. Open the Zoom management area in eduSeed.
  3. Choose the option to connect a Zoom account.
  4. When redirected to Zoom, sign in to the Zoom account to be connected.
  5. Review the requested permissions and approve the connection.
  6. After authorization, Zoom redirects back to eduSeed and the connection is stored.

For instructors

  1. Sign in to eduSeed with your instructor account.
  2. Open the class summaries area in eduSeed.
  3. Choose the option to connect your Zoom account.
  4. When redirected to Zoom, sign in to the Zoom account you use for classes.
  5. Review the requested permissions and approve the connection.
  6. After authorization, Zoom redirects back to eduSeed and your connection is stored.

4. How the Integration Is Used

  1. A connected Zoom account is used to host a class.
  2. Zoom stores the recording in the cloud and generates a transcript when available.
  3. Zoom sends a recording-related webhook event to eduSeed.
  4. eduSeed validates the webhook request and identifies the relevant Zoom connection.
  5. eduSeed retrieves the transcript and related recording metadata from Zoom.
  6. eduSeed generates a draft class summary for review inside the platform.

Disconnecting from eduSeed

  1. Sign in to eduSeed.
  2. Open the Zoom connection management area.
  3. Find the connected Zoom account.
  4. Choose the disconnect option and confirm the action.

Disconnecting removes the active connection from eduSeed and prevents future use of that Zoom connection until it is reauthorized.

Removing the app from Zoom

  1. Sign in to your Zoom account.
  2. Open your Zoom Marketplace installed apps or connected apps area.
  3. Locate the eduSeed Zoom integration.
  4. Remove or uninstall the app from your Zoom account if desired.
